How to Calculate CBM
The formula is simple:
CBM = Length (m) × Width (m) × Height (m)
If your dimensions are in centimeters, divide the result by 1,000,000 (or divide each dimension by 100 first).

- Medium carton (0.10 CBM): ~763 boxes
- Large carton (0.25 CBM): ~305 boxes
These are volume-based estimates. Always check weight limits too — 40HQ max payload is 26,480 kg.
LCL vs FCL — When Does CBM Matter?
- LCL (Less than Container Load): You pay per CBM. Accurate CBM calculation directly affects your cost.
- FCL (Full Container Load): You pay for the whole container. Maximizing CBM utilization saves money.
